Configuring WS_FTP LE to access your web site
This article explains how to configure WS_FTP LE to access your web site (note: WS_FTP LE has been replaced by WS_FTP Home. The free version of WS_FTP LE is still available from a few sites, such as oldversion.com).
  1. Start WS_FTP LE. You should be in the Session Properties dialog box. Click Connect if you do not see the Session Properties dialog box
  2. Click New
  3. Enter a name you want to use to identify your WinHost account in the Profile Name field
  4. Enter ftp.HostingAccountDomain.com in the FTP Host Address field. You can enter either your FTP address (ftp.HostingAccountDomain.com) or the secondary FTP address in this field. Your FTP login information can be found in the Site Info section of Control Panel. Note: your FTP address will not work until your domain name resolves to our servers.
  5. Enter your username in the User ID field
  6. Enter your password in the Password field
    • Optional: Check Save Pwd to save your FTP password in the profile
  7. Click the Startup tab
  8. Make sure Initial Remote Site Folder is left blank
  9. Click on Advanced tab
  10. Check Passive transfer if it is not already checked
  11. Click OK, you should now see your WinHost account in the Remote Site window
