How to enable SMTP authentication in Outlook XP/2002/2003

Follow the steps below to set up Outlook to retrieve and send email from our mail server.
  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on "Tools," select "Email Accounts..." This will bring up the Email Accounts wizard
  3. Select "View or change existing e-mail accounts," click "Next"
  4. Select the email account you wish to configure and click "Change," this will bring up the "Internet E-mail Settings" dialogue box
  5. Click "More Settings"
  6. Click on the second tab
  7. Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
  8. Check "Log on using" radio button
    • User Name: Your full email address (e.g., you@HostingAccountDomain.com)
    • Password: Your pop3 account password
  9. Click "OK"
  10. Click "Next"
  11. Click "Finish"
